Was very pleased with the service performed on my vehicle. All services were explained in a manner that I was able to understand. Will be calling them for a routine oil change soon.

A little backstory: prior to June 2020, I had never owned a vehicle with a 4 cylinder engine. I previously had a 2005 mercury Montego with a 6 cyl engine. I had also never driven a car with a manual transmission prior to June 2020.

I brought my 2014 Subaru Outback with manual transmission to auto hospital on 9/24/20, because I had an issue with my reverse gear. Before taking it in, I spoke with Troy (owner) on the phone and he was very knowledgeable and was happy to explain how the reverse gear worked, and said he could take a look at my vehicle. After I took it in, he called me and let me know that there weren't any issues with my reverse gear or my transmission in general, and suggested I start putting it in first gear before reverse.

He did mention that my car was completely gutless, and I agreed. I thought that's just how cars with 4 cyl engines were (and kind of regretted my purchase because of this). I did not get any speed or power whatsoever. Troy let me know that this was not normal, and asked if he could investigate. I authorized, and he found my back catalytic converter completely plugged. Thank God!

He promptly took care of this issue (I picked up my car the next day) and for a reasonable price. I love that he called and kept me in the loop the entire process. My car has more power now, and runs 1000x better. Thanks to troy and his team, I can actually love my car and not regret buying it. Thank you!! When you find a good mechanic, don't let them go. Troy and the auto hospital have earned a customer for life.

Have to say, this is a Rare Business. GREAT service and expert mechanics.

REALLY pleased with the work.

I have been taking my vehicles to Troy at the Auto Hospital for 20+ years and have never been disappointed with the work he's performed. I have an older Honda that he just did a service and repair on and it runs like new. I highly recommend The Auto Hospital.

Troy and his team are the best and most importantly honest and transparent about the care your car needs. Won't go anywhere else.

My daughter's car (2002 VW Cabrio) was not holding a charge and something was draining the battery. After running an amperage test with my volt meter at home, it was determined that the battery was losing somewhere around 5+ amps steadily with the battery connected and the car not running. I checked each fuse (pulling them out one at a time) and could not isolate the problem.

After calling numerous auto "electric" car specialist repair shops, The Auto Hospital was the most reasonably priced to diagnose the issue for us. After making an appointment, I dropped the car off and was later called that the problem was discovered. It seems that one of the "diodes" in the alternator went bad (the alternator was brand new and purchased at a local parts store the week prior).

After speaking with the mechanic at the Auto Hospital, he told me that if a diode goes bad in an alternator, it will be a constant drain on the battery. He suggested to have the alternator "bench tested" back at the auto parts store where I purchased it and have them replace the alternator, or purchase a better brand from another auto parts distributor. I chose to return it to the auto parts store. After all, I just spent $135.00 on the new alternator.

After returning the alternator to the store, sure enough, the brand new alternator I had previously purchased was bad and didn't pass the "bench testing" as suggested by the mechanic. The alternator failed the diode testing. The replacement alternator was "bench tested" and found to be good, so it was installed in her car and her car is running great again without the battery drain issue.

I appreciate the great and affordable service at the Auto Hospital. The diagnosis of her car was spot on and very reasonably priced. Other auto repair places in the Reno area wanted to charge me double of what the Auto Hospital charged (under $70). Thank you Auto Hospital, I appreciate the honest & affordable auto service!! We will be a repeat customer.

Had an oil change done and they did a very thorough inspection on my car. They found that my belt was cracking and starting to fray and if I had kept driving it it definitely would have fallen apart and destroyed who knows what else... the last place I had my oil changed didn't mention seeing anything wrong with my belt so I am very happy these guys did such a good inspection and caught that. They also let me know that my rear brake pads were very low and a few other things that the manufacturer recommends at certain milage for preventative maintenance. They didn't pressure me to buy everything they recommended which was awesome. I did replace the belt and did the oil change but that is all the money I had to spend rite then but I will definitely be going back here to have my brakes and the other things they recommended done.

Not just saying this, the nicest and most professional shop around. They even gave me a ride home while they serviced my car for a few hours. The owner Troy answered every question I had. Went above and beyond. Would 100% recommend

I have been here twice in the last year to service a used Jeep Grand Cherokee, and I love these guys!

The first time, my friend and I had installed some new O2 sensors so that I could pass smog. Unfortunately, there was also a short somewhere that I didn't know about and my diagnostics kept saying it was a new error on the sensors. Brought it in and they found it fairly quickly and fixed it up good. They also informed me about a few other things they found that didn't need to be fixed but to keep an eye on them and how to tell when they'd need fixed.

Last week I had a very poor experience at another shop I visited when both my vehicles broke down within days of each other. This other shop promised they had the parts and the time and would fix it in the same day, on a weekend, but they never even pulled it in the garage to look at it.

Two days later, in a bind, I brought the Jeep back to the Auto Hospital after a quick call, and by the end of the day it was done and ready to take home. They even took some extra time, after they were supposed to already be closed, to recheck everything and make sure everything was operating as normal after the job was complete. Even offered to top off the coolant in a couple days if I noticed it went low after the new stuff was through the system (had the radiator replaced).

Real standup guys here.

The prices are fair (not cheap, but not expensive ... they deserve what they get because it's done right the first time, which is basically a priceless feat) and the service is superb and quick. Knowledgeable and dedicated to a quality job done well.

I was originally recommended here by a friend who is very good with vehicles, but when he needs help this is where he goes. I see no other reason to try anybody else ever again.

If you happen to find you need any mechanical work on your car and you are out of town...this is the place to go! As a volleyball mom, carpooling kids, I needed to get the oil changed after a long trip to Reno. Cory took charge as soon as I walked in and made sure I was in and out of their with a safe car! I was charged faintly and in return I wanted to shout out and give this shop 5 stars! So nice to know as we have lots of trips ahead to Reno for volleyball and bb!

I even got a text later in making sure all was good with my service!

One of the few places that do mechanical work on RVs. Did an oil change and overall mechanical check. Good service. Reasonably priced.

Steve and the rest of his staff are top notch! Great service very friendly and worked with me and my wife through the issues our car was having. Not only is the customer service great but they are very affordable and up front with cost of parts and labor.

Shout out to Cody and troy! These guys are awesome! All I needed was a power steering flush, no questions asked. I called various auto shops and all of them said they would need to charge me a $80 diagnostic before evening scheduling for the service regardless of what I already knew what MY car needed. I tried 1 more and thank you to The Auto Hospital for answering my call. It was a no problem, easy schedule, and move on forward from there. Of course they said they would take a look at it to make sure I needed that specific service done at no charge mentioned. These guys are honest people who know what they are doing. They are considerate for those who use their car as their main transportation. I will definitely be taking my services here from now on!

When I first called up The Auto Hospital they listened to the problem that I described. Then, they began to discuss what process and solution they would take. The day I called around for a mechanic they were the first out of about seven establishments that offered a service member discount, and I appreciate that. Don't let the location of the shop intimidate you, the staff was knowledgeable, kind, and courteous. They did a diagnostic on the car, and they didn't sugar coat my options (I appreciate that). They came up with the most time/cost effective solution and solved my issue with my vehicle. I appreciate all that The Auto Hospital did for me and it is safe to say that I found my regular place that I'll take my vehicles from now on.

Moved to the Reno area in 2019. Needing an auto mechanic I checked reviews. Tried the Auto Hospital for a routine oil change service on my 2014 Ford Edge back in May, and have been going back since. They now also service my newly acquired 2017 Ford Escape. On the first visit for each vehicle, they checked the cars in their entirety for safety or maintenance concerns. Establishing a baseline of information in their computer for going forward. They found on the 2017 Escape that front brakes were coming due and could pose a safety concern in winter conditions. Out of curiosity I have checked their pricing against local Ford dealers. Hands down Auto Hospital is by far the better deal. I like that I can make an appointment. Troy and the entire staff have been most helpful in advising me about caring for my vehicles in a winter climate and vehicle maintenance in general. I am very particular about the maintenance of my vehicles and the timing of same. Troy and the folks at Auto Hospital have the same view and attention to their customer's vehicles. Glad I found Auto Hospital.

I broke down up in the truckee area.(from Sacramento to reno) No shops were able to help me out. So finally started calling all the way down into reno (was going to be getting towed) . Well after a long day of fighting my way off the highway I showed up 30 minutes before they closed. Troy the owner ran down the part with only 4 minutes to spare before the ford dealership closed. He stayed open late to fix my f250. He and his son (a family operation) are the all American kind of people that all Americans should want to support and can trust for a quality job... Troy, can't thank you enough. I was stranded high and dry, and you had my back.

CHEERS BROTHER, and THANKS FOR CARING

I trust The Auto Hospital with all my vehicles. It is the only place I take them for repairs. I know they are not going to tell me something needs fixing if it doesn’t. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable.

These guys fix cars. They do it at a great price, and preform a great service. Their website could use some work (online appts are the way to go), but I have zero regrets. I loved going here; guy at the front was awesome to talk to and his wife was good company. I hope they had a healthy child - if I ever leave horrible CA again, I will pick these guys for any automotive stuff I cannot do myself. A+ service and A+ customer service.
